Should I polish my coins before I come in?
Never. Polishing strips away original surfaces and kills collector appeal. That dark toning? Collectors pay extra for it. Cleaned coins lose 50 to 90 percent of their premium. Bring them as-is.
What determines a coin's price?
Two things. First, metal weight times the current spot price gives you melt value. Second, collector demand based on rarity, condition, and historical interest adds a premium. Some coins trade at melt. Others sell for multiples above it.
I inherited coins but don't know anything about them.
